When you create a universal app on the Windows Store, you can make it payable or add in-app purchases.
For every purchase in the store, Microsoft charges a fee.
I've long believed that Microsoft takes 30% of purchases, which isn't quite true.
How much does Microsoft take?
Microsoft will charge a fee of 30%, but this fee may be increased in different cases:
for a gift card purchase, the fee is increased by 2.24%, equivalent to a fee of 32,24%
in case of adjustment of commercial development”, the fee is increased by 13.9%, which amounts to a fee 43,9%
What is an adjustment of commercial development?
After some research, and a boost of Rudy Hyunn, are payments made in developing countries.
These payments are increased the implementation of these is more expensive for Microsoft.
If you are not satisfied with the store's default payment system, you are not stuck on Windows.
You can use another payment system, such as Paypal For example.
What about the competition?
At Google, the fee is 30%:see link.
At Apple, the fee is also 30%, and they have to renew a $99 annual subscription.
If Android and Apple developers can confirm that there are no other hidden fees, that would be cool.
It makes me think.
